My Background

IMG_8393.jpg

Sitting with a stranger, divulging parts of ourselves we don’t normally talk about can feel uncomfortable and overwhelming. Even the task of choosing who to talk to can feel daunting. From an early age, I experienced a great deal of change and loss, moving frequently. These changes helped develop in me a curiosity and openness, in connecting to strangers. We all have our stories, and our behaviors start to make more sense in the context of the people and experiences that shaped us. Counseling is a collaborative space in which healing and growth occurs through being seen, heard, and understood. I enjoy helping others uncover the shame and false beliefs that add unnecessary weight to life, and my hope is that you leave counseling with a better understanding of who you are and what you need. I hope to help you untangle the confusing experiences that prevent you from being the person you would like to be.

I completed my Masters in counseling from St. Edward’s University in 2015. I have experience working with a variety of issues, including family dysfunctions, trauma, grief, relationship barriers, and major life transitions. I work with adolescents and adults, individuals and couples. When I am not working, I enjoy all things outdoors - being in the trees, gardening, camping, bird watching, and finding bugs.
